Safety Rules:
Safety is the First Priority. If You Do Not Pass the Safety Tech-In, You DO NOT RACE. ALL SAFETY RULES Apply - See GENERAL RULES.
Roll Cage
- Must Have 6-Point Roll Cage Welded to Frame.
- Must Be a Minimum of 1.5” Diameter with at Least .063 Wall Thickness Chrome Molly or Mild Steel Tubing.
- Roll Cage Must Include Front Windshield Straps. Windshield Straps Must Have at Least Two (2) Straps of Webbing Material Connected from the Top Roll Cage Bar to the Lower Bar Over the Dash to Keep the Windshield from Coming into the Cab in the Event of an Accident.
- Interior Side Protection Tubes/Horizontal Roll Cage Door Bars Are Highly Recommended.
- Both Side Windows Must Have Either Web-Type Safety Net with Latch-Link or Spring Loaded Release Mechanism. Mesh or String-Type Nets Are Approved. Net Must Be Secured in Place and Centered in the Door Area Covering the Side Window & Fastened to the Upper Roll Cage Horizontal Member When the Vehicle is in Competition.
- 4-Point SFI Harness Required for Driver & Passenger.
Body and Frame
- Must have Automobile Appearance.
- No Tube Frames Allowed.
- Aftermarket Windshield Replacement Okay.
- Must Have Fenders/Sheet Metal Protection on All Four (4) Wheels.
- All Vehicles May Run ¾ or 1 Ton Running Gear (Drivetrain, Axles, etc.).
- Shortening or Lengthening of Frame Is Allowed.
- Wheel Base May Be Shortened or Lengthened.
- Vehicle Must Approved for Safety by Tech Officials.
Interior
- Dash May Be Removed.
- Heater and Heater Ducts May Be Removed.
- Mid-Plates and Motor Plates Are Allowed. Engine Set Back Is Allowed.
- Vehicle Is Required to Carry On-Board a Fully Charged, Mounted Fire Extinguisher of A, B, or C Dry Chemical Type, 2.5 Pounds Minimum Capacity with Gauge in Cab.
- 4-Point SFI Harness Required for Driver & Passenger.
Bumpers
- Must Have Functional Front and Rear Bumpers.
- Bumpers Must Be Capped Off Even and Not Stick Out Past the Side Body Panels or the Tires. No Protruding or Sharp Edges. No Pipe or Tubing Unclosed/Uncapped Allowed.
- All Vehicles Must Have Tow Hooks Front and Rear.
Fuel Cells
- Gas Tank Must Be Removed and Replaced with a Fuel Cell.
- Fuel Cell Must Have Positive Locking or Screw Caps.
- Fuel Cell Must Be Fully Secured.
- All Fuel Lines Must Be Isolated from Driver's Compartment.
Fuel
- Gasoline, Alcohol, or Racing Fuel Only.
- Nitrous Oxide Allowed.
Transmission
- Any OEM Production Type Transmission Allowed.
- Aftermarket Shifters Allowed.
- Stall Converters Allowed.
- Power Glides Okay in Any Vehicle (Ex. Ford, Chevy, Chrysler, etc.)
- Transbrakes Are Allowed.
- All Automatic Transmissions Must Have a SEMA Approved Shield or Blanket.
Suspension
- Suspension Swaps Allowed.
- Aftermarket Shackles/Sliders Are Allowed.
- Lift Kits Are Allowed.
- Can Change / Up-Grade Axles, Rear End Housings, etc.
- 4-Link, Z-Link Conversions Allowed.
- Traction Devices, 5 th Links, Ladder Bars Are Allowed.
- Rack & Pinion Steering Is Allowed.
Tires
- Any Type Tires Except Paddle or Scupper Tires.
- Cutting or Grooving Is Allowed.
Radiator
- Radiator May Be Relocated to the Bed of the Vehicle.
- Electric Fans Are Okay.
- Water Pumps Are Optional.
- Radiator Must Be Securely Fastened and Shielded from Driver.
- Must Not Be in the Driver's Compartment.
Battery
- Must Not Be in Driver's Compartment. Must Be Installed with 3/8” Bolts with a Minimum of a ¼” Steel Plate and/or Tube Frame Type Construction. (Bungee Ties or Rubber Straps Are Not Acceptable.)
- May have Auxiliary Batteries.
- On/Off Battery Disconnect Switch Is Required at the Rear on the Passenger Side. The Switch Must Be Located a Minimum of Twelve (12) Inches to a Maximum of Twenty-Four (24) Inches from the Side and a Maximum of Twelve (12) Inches from the Rear.
Engine Specifics
- Only One (1) Engine Per Vehicle .
- Engine Type Must Be Automotive Type.
- Mid-Plates and Motor Plates Are Allowed. Engine Set Back Allowed.
- No Rear Engines.
Carburetor Only
- Any Single 4-Barrel Carburetor Is Allowed. No Multiple Carburetors.
- Throttle Pedal Must Be Positive Acting with Return Loop or Arm for Return In Case of Stuck Throttle. Three Return Springs are Mandatory, One (1) on Pedal and Two (2) on Carburetor.
- No Fuel Injection. No Blowers.
- Nitrous Oxide (NOS) Is Allowed.
Electrical
- Any Ignition Allowed.
- Alternators Are Optional.
Exhaust
- Headers Are Allowed. Headers Can Be Run Up or Down.
Brakes
- Driveline Brakes Okay.
- Must Have Brakes on at Least Two (2) Wheels (Ex. Two Front Wheels or Two (2) Back Wheels).
- Must Be Able to Stop Safely.
